The Inner Beauty of a Woman

Published

on

There is no doubt that women and beauty are timeless. Everywhere you look you see women displaying their beauty in hairstyles, make-up, cosmetic surgery, fashion and accessories. Women and beauty go together like ice cream and cake. Don’t get me wrong, I love to be pampered and beautiful; adorned with what makes me feel and look beautiful. While most of the emphasis for women and beauty is shown outwardly, how much emphasis is being placed on the inward beauty of women?

The inner beauty of a woman is a very unique quality. It’s quite surprising to find that many women that possess outer beauty do not necessarily possess inner beauty as well. Have you ever encountered the woman that strikes you as beautiful until she begins to show who she really is. Her conversation is full of attitude; instead of confidence she’s cocky, in place of grace she’s tacky. The surface beauty does not compare to the inner ugly. On the contrast, take the woman that’s not really attractive but her personality causes her to shine like the sun at high noon. She has a quiet confidence that exudes explanation. Her inner beauty surpasses by far the fact that she may not be on the cover of anybody’s magazine or looked upon as a beauty queen; she knows who she is.

It would be nice to see more emphasis placed on the inner beauty of a woman. While many women are striving to get that perfect figure, nose, eyes, puffy lips, breast enhanced and enlarged, buttock lift, tummy tuck and whatever else that can be altered, the personality of the woman is not being enhanced at all. A woman’s inner beauty needs to always be evident on the outside. Integrity, honest, morals and values are traits that make up her character. No matter what the situation or circumstances, a woman that possesses inner beauty will conduct herself in matter that makes others take notice. Life brings about many opportunities to fashion a woman’s character for real inner beauty.

About Keeping Up With Teenager Fashions

Published

on

The teenagers of today not only have to keep up with the pressures of their lifestyles, such as demands for them to be singing, dancing and academic whiz kids, but also to maintain a fashion image that meets or goes beyond that of their peers! Going online is a great way to view what is happening in the Boutique world. Browse the latest stunning clothes from classy dresses to outright fashion statements. Teenagers need a time out, to relax and be encouraged to wear what makes them feel comfortable when with their friends. Whether dressed to kill or cool casual, as a teenager, you want that feeling of growing up and the clothes to match.

Being a teenager, could in various ways be compared to living between two different worlds; grownups and kids! You have your own ways and means of communicating, your own jokes and sometimes complex behavior patterns that leave most other age groups, especially parents, bothered and bewildered. However, the main thing is that you feel good about yourself and this is always helped by your particular talent for fashion. You are going to put being different in the face of everyone else; why; because it’s what teenagers do! One way of flaunting your individuality is with your own fashion statement and looking stunning at the same time.

A Fashion Mission

It may come as a surprise to some, to learn that teens are spending most of their money on food and clothes. One of their challenges is trying to choose the fashion clothes that will put them ahead of the pack, but at the same time will not be too far out! How much parental influence is exerted varies between teens, with some wannabe young mothers even trying to compete with their trendy daughters. As if they didn’t have enough pressure from their friends, now mom is trying to get in on the fashion act.

Teenagers are maturing faster in this day and age; they have a collected, independence about them that can shock some moms and especially dads, when they come to a sudden realization that their little girl is, in fact, a young woman? Wow! How did that happen? At 14 years of age, young ladies are well aware of what and what is not acceptable to wear and generally enjoy the sensation of getting attention. A significant amount of time is spent by some teenagers in clothing shops, irritating the staff by trying on numerous outfits. Others take the easy, convenient route, by going online and browsing at their leisure, alone, with their friends or even with mom!

Fashion Experience online

In life, some things never change and one of them is how teenagers are astoundingly choosy about how they look, often regarding details that don’t seem essential to adults. This is one reason why shopping fashionable clothes online, is for this age group known as teens, an experience that will give them and their friends, great pleasure. They can browse through the various categories, making comments as they go and comparing how great they would look in various styles. Many teenagers today, however, do have an inherent class about them and a talent for detail. This can include how the hair is swept and held back in a particular style as well as anything and everything else being the perfect match. On the other side of the coin is that teens of today, don’t “dress up” as those of yester-years. In many ways, it’s difficult for “oldies”, like parents, to recognize what are their usual day clothes and those for going out in the evening! One aspect of this is that although they want to stand out in a crowd of their friends, attracting too much attention to themselves, does not seem to be part of the teenager code of conduct.

At the end of the day, fashions and styles may change, but teenagers will always be teenagers, no matter how they dress!

Elusive Beauty

Published

on

It’s what every woman wants, at least on some level – beauty. Unfortunately beauty itself is elusive, subjective, and what’s more, sometimes unhealthy. What do I mean? Let’s start with elusive. The very definition of the word elusive is, well, elusive. Dictionary.com defines the word elusive as the following:

e·lu·sive /ɪˈlu sɪv/ Pronunciation Key adjective 1. eluding clear perception or complete mental grasp; hard to express or define: an elusive concept. 2. cleverly or skillfully evasive: a fish too elusive to catch.

I particularly like the second part of the definition which uses the example: a fish too elusive to catch. That, after all, is very much the same as beauty. Just when one thinks that they are one step away from being beautiful, they find another area of themselves in need of “beautification.” The classic example, of course, is the woman who becomes addicted to plastic surgery- first it’s the eye’s that need lifting, but once this is done she finds another part of her that needs “fixing.” Perhaps the lips now seem too thin, the chin is sagging, or there are those breasts that are doing the same.

While I have no problem with cosmetic surgery in and of itself, I do believe that one must go through a mental evaluation of self in order to determine whether or not this particular procedure is going to have the desired affect, both mentally and physically. The bottom line is that some woman do indeed feel better about themselves after a cosmetic procedure is done, while some are part of the “never satisfied” group, a group that certainly has issues above and beyond those cosmetic.

Now, on to “subjective.” What’s the old adage? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure- or in our case “woman’s.” In other words, each woman’s idea of what is beautiful, or how she may look more so, is an extremely subjective and personal thing. After all, we’ve all seen a person who completely defies our definition of beautiful and, well, tastefulness, right? I mean, TLC’s show “What Not to Wear” is a perfect example. Each woman who goes on the show has been voted on by “friends” who simply believe she does not conform to the societal standards of what’s okay and what’s not. And I do have to say, there are some women who appear on the show who I, for all my own subjectivities, cannot believe would fit ANY persons idea of taste. However, reminding myself of another adage “beauty is in the eye…” I am humbled by the awareness of my very own highly subjective perspectives on beauty.

So, what’s left? Oh, that’s right – “unhealthy.” Again, I’ll quote a definition to help clarify from Dictionary.com, since the Oxford English Dictionary is not available online:

un·health·y [uhn-hel-thee] adjective

1. not in a state of good or normal health; in an unsound, weak, or morbid condition. 2. not conducive to good health; unhealthful: Night air was formerly considered unhealthy. 3. dangerous; risky.

Many aspects of the concept of beauty are, in agreement with the aforementioned definitions, unhealthy. Few would argue that cosmetic surgeries can be risky, that scores of cosmetics on the market are “not conducive to good health” and that many of the worst offenders, weight-loss products, are “dangerous.” Additionally, America’s fascination with being thin, and sometimes critically so, often leads to anorexia and bulimia which is certainly not a condition that many would consider a “state of good or normal health.”

In conclusion while beauty is, as I believe I’ve outlined above elusive, subjective, and sometimes unhealthy, people worldwide are taking steps to make positive changes to affect the world’s conceptions of, healthfulness of, and preoccupation with, beauty. Some examples include Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty, companies manufacturing dolls with normal characteristics (and measurements) and those who offer more natural and healthy ways to enhance one’s own idea of beauty. Natural beauty choices have, in fact, gained an extreme amount of popularity in recent years. For example Burt’s Bees has, for some time now, been offering all-natural cosmetic and personal care options, organic clothing is now even being sold at retailers galore, and cosmetic companies like Erth Minerals have begun manufacturing mineral makeup that is made from just crushed minerals and therefore without unhealthy chemicals and preservatives. In short, the future of more healthful beauty and for increased options for satisfying our eternal, elusive, and subjective quest for beauty will continue to grow in the years to come.
